About AP

About the AP Program at Chandler High School

2025 Testing Dates found HERE

The Advanced Placement curriculum (AP) constitutes individual AP subjects taught with the rigor of a university-level course that allows students to earn college credit while in high school. Chandler High School's AP teachers regularly attend national College Board Conferences to ensure the AP instruction exceeds all requirements, and many of our AP teachers are AP Examiner Scorers for AP exams each year.

CHS AP students earn hundreds of university credits per year because of the caliber of instruction they receive from our master AP teachers. Many AP students earn the honor of National Merit Finalist, Baird Scholarship recipient, FLINN scholar, and, as a group, are offered millions of dollars in scholarships.

CHS has a long and respected history of offering challenging AP courses in every subject area so students may optimize their preparation for success at any university in the world. The AP curriculum is not a Diploma Program, nor will the student earn an additional diploma, as in the International Baccalaureate Program, but they may earn significant credits accepted by the majority of the nation’s universities and colleges.

The AP examination fee is $100.00 per testThe AP exams occur in May, with exam results mailed to the students and university/colleges of the student’s choice. Universities and colleges may grant college credit if the student earns a score of 3 or higher (based on a 5-point scale) on each exam. Students must, however, verify with the university or college the amount of credit that will be granted for each subject exam. The amount of credit may vary from subject to subject, but most universities grant significant credit to incoming freshmen.
